Wholesome Life Chiropractic is a friendly, relaxed, local Chiropractic Practice providing top to toe assessments for patients and encouraging a balanced lifestyle.
The Wholesome Life Chiropractic logo had to appear professional, at the same time convey the message of a more relaxed practice, encouraging a balanced lifestyle. The client particularly liked the idea of some kind of tree, leaf, flower or organic element feature in the logo design.
After creating some initial sketches we mocked up some of the more favourable concepts in Illustrator.
Logo Design #1
The mark in this logo is a hand print and where the negative space where the palm would be is a tree. The tree is quite subtle and from far away the mark just looks like the print of a palm of a hand, however close up it reveals the tree.
As the mark is slightly on the informal side I wanted to ensure the font gave the logo a more professional look. The layout of the company name ensures the word ‘Chiropractic’ is bolder and more noticeable, allowing the audience to see instantly what they do. The curve that the company name sits on gives the logo a professional yet friendly touch.
The colours have an earthy tone fitting in nicely with the hand print.
Logo Design #2
Logo 2 developed naturally from logo 1. Logo 2 uses the companies initials ‘WLC’ which makes up the hand (W and L are the fingers and C is the palm). This is a particularly unique and distinctive mark.
The rounded font works well with the curves of the hand and fingers. Again, the word ‘Chiropractic’ is bolder in this logo to ensure audiences know what it is the company does.
Logo Design #3
The mark on Logo 3 is an abstract interpretation of the vertebrae. To add a more handmade / wholesome touch a circle and dotted line (which almost look like stitches) was added.
The words ‘Wholesome Life’ are in a handwritten font, again to give the logo more of a handmade touch. Whereas the word ‘Chiropractic’ although smaller is clearer and easy to read.
Once again the colours are neutral and natural to project the wholesome message.
Logo Design #4
The mark on logo 4 is two leaves with the vein of the leaf replaced with the vertebrae. The vertebrae is slightly lost when the logo is reduced to a small size, however you can still see the curve of a spine. The illustration is out of alignment to give the logo a hand coloured feel.
As the mark looks hand illustrated I wanted to ensure that the font was more professional and traditional. Again, the layout allows the word ‘Chiropractic’ to be easily read.
The colours are more vibrant in this logo, giving the logo a more active and dynamic feel.
Logo Design Development
The client really liked the mark of logos 1 and 3 combing the hand with the circle and stitches. With this combination we created several different logo designs.
The client loved logo 1 and we set about creating various colour variations for the logo design.
The client chose logo design 2 and liked the earthy tones of the green with the professional feel of the grey.
Ian Doble, business owner commented, “We were impressed with all the logo concepts you provided, and we absolutely love our final design!”
